Who can apply?
Artists working in any medium, local to the San Marcos, Wimberly, Martindale, and Lockhart areas, showcasing their process and finished work.
Is there a fee?
Yes, a participation fee that differs depending upon your registration.
What’s the deadline?
Feb 1st. Please apply well in advance.
Tour Logistics & Your Studio
When is the tour?
Typically held annually in the first two weekends of April. Currently set for the weekends of April 4th-5th & 11th-12th
Where is my “studio”?
You can list your address, either your home or another location, which appears on the official map. This can be a classroom, garage, spare bedroom, coffee shop, business, gallery, community center, etc.
What if I don’t have a studio?
Options often include joining a collective/shared space, partnering with a local business or applying for only the group show held at MotherShip Studios. If this is the case you will use Mothership Studios address (20027 San Marcos Hwy 80, San Marcos, 78666) as your address in your application.
Preparing for Visitors
What do I need to do?
Be ready to talk about your art, show your process, have work for sale, and engage with the public. Advertise to your communities who may not be aware of the studio tour.
How should I display work?
Organize your space to be inviting, showcase new and old pieces, and ensure clear signage for pricing.
What about sales?
You handle your own transactions; be prepared with a system for cash, card, Square, or Venmo/PayPal.
